Midtown Rising is pleased to formally announce a partnership with The Co-Operation Cafe and Community Incubator to begin a social enterprise incubator in Community Action‘s building on Delaware Avenue in Kingston, NY. The aim of the incubator is t2015-08-24 10.53.55o provide Hudson Valley residents with a collaborative workspace to generate creative solutions to issues in our community using technology, locally sourced foods, cooperatively owned housing and the arts. Beginning in September we will have the use of several large rooms in Community Action’s building and access to their 1,500 sq. ft. commercial kitchen. We are also equally pleased to say that we will be collaborating with Citizen Action‘s Local Jobs Campaign during this process. If you or someone you know is interested in starting a local, ethical business that meets the triple bottom line (social, financial and environmental responsibility), or in receiving job training for pre-existing jobs in the county, please let us know. While special preference will be given to women, minorities, and low-income applicants, anyone who is committed to community-oriented outcomes and shared workspace is encouraged to apply for space in our program. We do not discriminate based on criminal history. If you would like more information please contact Jordan Scruggs at 828-808-4535 or Clay Laugier at 518-653-3040.
